can you post before and after example of just the kick playing - would be great for me and i'm sure alot of other people to hear the find of effect this achieves?

the second sample has a little more FX work on the whole song in it other than the kick work, but I think you should get the point. If you want a better sample, I'll post one up later today when I get off work showing exclusively the kicks.

I've generally been told to generally shy away from widening bass frequencies... but there is nothing wrong with widening frequencies in the lower mid-range and higher. Knock yourself out on your kicks and see what happens.
