you have to realize that many of the highschool dj's are trying to dj to fit in because it's something that may make them look "cool." so they truly have no idea wtf they are doing, but most of the kids in the dance think he's doing the right thing anyway.

I just bought a 3/4th dance track. Pretty darn cool one 2 I might add. Pain in the ass to mix, but doable nonetheless...

You're gonna have to explain that one. Their setup is definitely on the boring side, but there are far worse out there.

Well, their set is obviously going to be beatmatched because of Ableton but that's it. Their track selection is the worst I've ever heard. There is no thought to the tracks that they play. I'd imagine that they take a track, give it a number, throw that number in a hat, and whichever number they pull, they play that track.
When I go see a dj they are going to be put on some sort of standard. I don't go see local djs who are new, expecting to be blown away. I keep an open mind to everyones sound and ability. Gabriel & Dresden have no excuse being that bad as djs since they do this for a living and have been doing it for years. Therefor they get my pick for "Worst DJ(s) I've ever seen live."

I avoided all my school dances. But when I was in Houston last month there was this sorry excuse for one playing in the hotel pub. All he was doing was playing one track, fade out, run his mouth on a mic for a bit then fade in new track. Disgusting...I took my beer back to my room. LAME!

Breakbeat is still four beats per bar. Just not a kick drum on every downbeat. You're confusing time signature with "four to the floor".

There was a DJ @ a popular club in Toronto, and between every song he would play a lil sample advertising his name by a robotic voice. It would be like 10 seconds of total silence.. then the next song.
