Fractal & Glider - Up

Hearing this track alot lately at the outdoor gigs and its neither psy or trance but it causes a massive crowd frenzy when its dropped on the big rigs, sort of minimal feel to it, but its nust! not too good in headphones but on the big systems its justice is revealed!

check it out

+ all of Sun Control Species' new album is great!

anyone have any suggestions of some other artists?

Fractal Glider, some of Jaļa's older stuff (Maļ Maļ e.g.), Astrix, Sesto Sento ect. I think you should consider Israeli-styled names similar to the last two i mentioned.

They once did awsome progressive psy but has now turned to electro house sound more than progressive psy. Ticon and Son Kite has done just the same funny enough... But they don't make bad music becuase of this shift in gear

Try Astrix - Artcore 2004. He's about to release another album really soon.

Ace Ventura first album rebirth may well be worth a listen. For older works I would check tracks from Andromeda, Perfect stranger, Jaia, Antix.

For more faster stuff, other than the stuff already mentioned you may want to check also Cosma, Fatali, Silicon Sound.

I think I'm just one of the people that still can't understand the whole prog psy thing. To me trance can't be both progressive and Psychadelic, it just doesn't make sense. I would consider vibrasphere neither, Id just call it a harder shape of prog house.

vibrasphere tracks like seven days to daylight, landmark, morning breeze, purple floating & pretty much all the upbeat tracks from 'echo' all have really strong psy influences

most of their other stuff is probably more accurately classed as prog trance though

Although Vibra, Ticon and Son Kite was just the top of the mountain
really, like the Tiėsto and Buuren of the genre.
There are quite a few deeper projects out there wich is more of
"the real deal" in the progpsy genre than Vibra, Ticon or Son Kite.

It isn't so hard to understand really, there are many forms of psychedelic trance if you want to be specific. You have for example a "techier" side of psy wich means there is sort of a techno feeling to the sound, mentionable names are X-Dream, PPS Project or even The Delta at some degree.
The most mainstream part of psy today, the fullon is also a category within the genre. Astrix is a good example aswell as the stuff J00F spins sometimes. Fullon is usually where the melodic trance meets generic psychedelic trance because you often have many strong melodic elements in the tracks compared to the other subgenres. Check out the later Bamboo Forest stuff, that's very good fullon imo. If you want to get ultracheese fullon you should check out Skazi for example
You have the acid styled psy wich i think is the best representation of "pure" psy. But that is just a personal oppinion. Hux Flux, Dark Nebula, 1200 Micrograms, Osom, amongs others.
It's quite the same with progpsy actually, you have a scaled down but strong "deep" sound, with beats that just goes on without any big drops. Same as with progressive trance, the difference is that the soundpicture has more influences from the other psy genres, monotone bassline, the way tracks are structured, more psychedelic soundscapes ect.
