and was trying to make a marquee to make it go from left to right and loop, but it won't work unless the marquee is on its separate line
which makes it not look right
I know this isn't exactly what you wanted to do, but I didn't quite understand your explanation. What else do you want to do with this?

the plan was to look like this:

with the two portals and the cube all on one line, the portals being fixed and the cube fixed
so the cube would scroll into one portal, then come out the other
