Not quiet... you are forgetting how powerful these winds are right now. 50-60 mph gusts are basically hurricane strength... and carry embers for huge distances nearly instantly.

It's actually like 2-3 fires in San Diego that either branched off or had embers carried good distance that sparked new ones.

You'd think we would have learned after Firestorm 03 about Wildfire preparedness... you need massive amounts of people for this kind of crap.

The smoke is killing me right now... especially because I'm sick too.

wow. kinda witnessed the whole thing unfolding... was in fontana/IE area on sat night, it was normal during the day but it starting getting windy as hell when it got to night time.. on the way home that night on the 15 there was a fire next to the freeway. the next day went to San Diego.. it was like the whole city was covered in smoke. on the way back that evening back to irvine we saw the fire near sand canyon.. and my neighborhood was a disaster this morning, downed trees everywhere

The OC Fire is arson.

Don't doubt that, but they had to start to begin with.. The 3 in Irvine area have already been said they are Arson.

It's possible... I only say that because if someone lit up 8 arson fires that quickly... it'd be one big friggin group doing it together.

We started with two on Sunday in San Diego... and have wound up with 8 total so far...

though I think that # is a gross overstatement of maybe 4 fires doing what I said first. As for the cause... Power Transformers are the root of two so far I've heard here.

My girlfriend works at the Wet Seal/Arden B corporate office in Foothill Ranch. It's the huge white building on the hill that's at Portola and Bake. They continue to have her come into work everyday to simply be sent home at about noon. Today may be different though.

Its crazy driving home on the 5 and seeing the mountains glowing orange. It sucks because i wake up and go outside and it looks like the silent hill movie with all the smoke and ash.
