catchy title. old research.

Zimbardo is one of my psychology teacher's heroes. I really enjoyed reading about the "Stanford imprisonment" research, that involved students building and portraying (by role-playing) the environment and psychological damage of prison.

Read it here: http://www.prisonexp.org/

In conclusion, people with a uniform and a badge are more likely to abuse their authority. Oh, the irony...

thats what this book is about. It has taken him this long to actually write a book about it. Plus he has more to add about the abu grab prison stuff and some other toture things. But he goes over the experiment in detail...great detail, kinda cool.

my love of zimbardo was tainted when I was at a conference he was at. someone had made popcorn and you could smell it everywehre. I saw Zimbardo walking by and he kept repeating, "where's the popcorn, where's the popcorn, where's the popcorn, where's the popcorn, where's the popcorn, where's the popcorn, where's the popcorn, where's the popcorn, where's the popcorn" his voice is kinda funny too.

great psychologist though.

Just finished up Nueromancer, crazy book! I didn't realize how many sci-fi movies drew from this book for pretty much everything. "The Matrix" is basically a shitty verion of Nueromancer

Definitely want to pick up the rest of his "Sprawl" series of books. Awesome stuff
