I agree...im trying to do the houseparty thing this year, something different and low-key, without paying double or even triple for a night of clubbing that's no different from the other 364 days of the year.
that is usually the best way to go. House party with good friends is always FTMFW!

in a perfect world, i would be seeing sasha and digweed at the guvernment. but they're going to be in fucking LA with ferry!!! i suppose we could go there, but we did kind of have our hearts set on tdot this holiday season. what else in the world is happening that special evening??
You could celebrate early and do Sasha and Digweed in Montreal on the 28th.
I think that is what a large number of Toronto TA's will be doing..
Kelly you interested???

^^ lol didnt you read my first post? I am thinking bout it
About the same amount of money to travel to montreal and pay for a party, then to spend one night in NYC partying on NYE. I hate it here on NYE with a passion.
^^Shelley if we do go it will probably only be for one night.

of course, guv being my OG club, I rarely have a bad thing to say about it, but if you go to toronto, its prolly the worst time to go because Guv always has locals playing on NYE. (I am maybe assuming from your post, but I gathered you were looking for this huge party). Montreal seems to be the place to be in canada....HUGE massive and those kids know how to throw massives!!
yea, this is all true. i just sort of have this crazy spiritual linkage to the guvy that i just can't get over i had never been to montreal though... so the ^^^^^ post is quite entising. 28th eh... would this be at stereo??? i've always wanted to go there!!

hahah OG = original....I used to live there and thats where I was every weekend for 3-4 years before I moved to nyc.
I have told many people before: toronto has the major "clubs" (Guvernment and now circa, which apparently is bigger and better than guv but I havent been there yet), but montreal has the best afterhours (ie: stereo) and massives. Montreal's massives are absolutely insane. ask some of the nytas who have been, they will tell you.
In montreal, i think the schedule is: dec 29th: sander k and sasha/digweed, and on NYE: a party called Resolution with markus Schultz, sander van doorn, lawler and a whole shit load of people that you have to go see the montreal thread for. Shelley can correct me if I am wrong on the S&D date. ??
Edit: stereo is also open for like 3 days straight around NYE. lol I love that place......but it gets crackie On a regular night it doesnt even open until 3 or so and then in the am (I think 11am) the Stereo bar upstairs opens for next day festivities.

I'm thinking about heading to Montreal for NYE. Sasha & Digweed and a bunch of others will be spinning there a few days prior, and I've never been to Montreal. Flights there cost more than they should for NYE but train tickets are really cheap each way. I'm sure I can find something to do up there on the 31st . It's just a question of whether or not I'll be allowed the day off of work to make it up there in time for the set on the Friday beforehand.
