in response to Rook (cuz there's no point in arguing with you, Val )
dude desyn opened my eyes bigtime when i 1st saw him at stereo november 3rd 2006 (i believe). sultan opened for him (had seen him play with luke fair back in fall of 2005 at stereo). he played a killer set as well! anyways, desyn came on, emotionless and humble; barely moving his own legs to the beat...and he absolutely DESTROYED everyone who was in that club!
I'd never heard that kinda prog before played out in a club...proper "new-school" shit if you get what i mean. good "newer" prog is somewhat hard to find imo. Maybe i'm not looking hard enuf, I don't know but wtv. Desyn is really contributing by bringing some fresh new music to his sets. It's just really nice to hear if you're a prog lover all around . He builds upon the genre beautifully.
people told me, "watch it erika, desyn plays some really melodic, funky, uplifting stuff". those elements didn't appeal to me that much then. i want something that drives, that rolls, that has that continuous swing to it and snowballs into the deepest, most sensual, attitude-infused musical mix i've ever heard.
so i went! and des deliveredddddd that to me sooooo well, mon dieu that night is defo in my personal top 3 of 2006 at stereo. and trusttttt me i went to that damn club way. too. much...
and he did it yet again on 4/20 of this year when maher daniel warmed things up for him. he's an awesome DJ...his mixes are tight, his tracks are off the hook, his energy level is meh but whatever, he provides through his music. A true musical legend in the making, in my books anyways...
So ya Rook, I think you should come indulge in Mistahhh Desyn Masiello
/end appreciation rant sorry!
