And no, please don't worry folks, the people who've led us down this dark and dreary path still have your well-being at heart and as soon as they've cornered the market on genetically modified foods, our drugs (both illicit and prescription), the oil and all of the other natural resoources, they're going to come and help us all out in a nice, kind totalitarian system of government.

I think that Ron Paul is one of the only Candidates who stands against them.

So than you agree. We are in a good state of affairs?

he's a fine Legislator, a career committee man, but as the POTUS? hell no.

he is a experienced man and better qualified than clinton, giuliani , etc... and he is consistent in his views showing confidence in his ideas whereas others go depending of who , what and where they are. The man is very upright and not easily corruptible like the 2 previous occupants of WH and I think he will appeal squarely to people who think there must be fundamental changes in the country and who are sick of wars , deception and economic fallout , not just more of the same which is what others offer

Dood, keep your own arguments straight.
You accused me of being a neocon and couldn't understand why I'd like him and I just answered that I never said I didn't.
What's not clear here?

Because they can and why not ?

No, don't try and throw that back at me.
Your the one that said that the article was biased; the onus is on you to prove to me why you think that.
'Because' is not an argument...

Ron Paul has been winning TELEPHONE polls which I presume are paid calls , not internet ones and that article only talks about emails which are sent en mass commercially anyways. Furthermore the entire intro is completelly inflamatory, unobjective with words like "criminal" and meant to paint a negative picture in the reader before presenting some allegations by some "expert".

The negative picture is quite clear, spamming is not tolerated and in my mind, not very democratic.
One would have to be pretty blind not to see a lot of negative biasing with the online persona that is Ron Paul.
That's not to take away from the fact that there could very well be a lot of online support for Ron however there are people out there hurting their own cause.

quote:

What do mass emails have to do with poll voting , even internet ones?

The connection is the (stupid) people altering the real statistics behind Ron's support.
They do him discredit with their overabundant, "help".

Personally, I do kinda like Ron.
It would be cool to see him go far, but I think he's a little too fringe for a lot of people.

Actually, when I did question my beliefs, that's when I saw the realities of this country. Not too long ago, I supported the war, terrorism fighting, bush, etc. Now, I'm diametrically opposed to almost everything Bush has stood for. THe country is divided. We're tangling alliances in foreign wars. If every path were the right path, then why do they all diverge wildly? Few paths are straight and narrow. Ron Paul embodies this ideal most out of all the candidates. In my opinion, but your entitled to think and vote otherwise.

If I get a picture of him and me together... I will post! His presidential committee needs to ok him to come but all signs point to 'yes' he will be there.

//he is my rep
///cousin is getting the award
////all I want to ask him is, why fock with my job??
////not first brush with political big wigs, The Bush Clan goes duck and geese hunting around my fams lands here in Texas.

has Paul ever been a senior administrator or held any top executive job or position? no. therefore he clearly can't be better qualified than those who have been, much less those that have been and highly successful at it.

so in that respect you are wrong despite his "uprightness" and alleged "uncorruptability" which i agree with you he has.

How can WIRED magazine, a tech rag, be biased toward politics?
What possible agenda could they have other than their interest in how the internet plays with politics?

Well, it would be the author of the article, not necessarily the magazine.

Somewhat true, but it still has to get past the publishing editor before it even hits the mag.

WIRED has never been known to dabble in politics or have a political option one way or the other.

Ok, You do not not like him. That's a double negative, that's what is confusing. Maybe you are trying to convince us something?

look at the inflamatory intro, it is meant to paint a negative picture before any allegations sets in, that's not how an objective article is written . Speaking of allegations, what does voting have to do with spam which anyone can generate? I don't see connection between spam email and tv voting and I used to work on computer networks and then calling it criminal for ignorant readers to associate it baselessly

Spamming is quiet tolerated on the internet as there is no sure way to remove it. That said , there is no point here , spamming is not voting as this article suggests.

he doesn't get much or any exposure in mainstream corporate media so it only seems that he gets all his support from internet. Of course that's not like it in real life but the mainstream media have picked their people in Giuliani and Clinton and that's it for them and Ron Paul.

See you are now in full neocon mode, there is no proof of him setting up any votes and statistics but there is evidence that he is being shut down of the mainstream media and even when he does show up , he is treated derisively

Well I like Bush and Clinton as people, just not in any kind of power or political thinking. That said, Ron Paul seems very mainstream to me in a sense that he is very consistent and he doesn't have some special interest group hanging over his head looking for a payback. It's up to the people in the end and what they want and can tolerate, RP understands it's do or die time, something has to give ,something has to change but
