I would personally go with new gear as it will have warranties and such ( I did, its my gear that British was talking about) also when getting stuff from overseas you need to consider things like shipping costs/risk and import duties, the reason they are cheaper in the US is because to get any of them here is Aus you need to pay a tax to get them past customs and etc. so before getting things from overseas just check out the cost of these kind of things, also power compatibility is another issues with getting electronic goods from other countries.
