I've got both, it's really quite near, but the 360 has better graphics. And is better for online gaming. And lets you play music while in game overriding the game music (sounds like nothing but man is it good). Can also stream from a PC.
You need to buy an add on for wifi for the 360 though. And as said for HD DVD if that's important to you. Have watched blu ray on my tv and to be honest because the picture moves that fast I don't know if you'll noticed a huge amount of difference (is a 32inch screen, maybe 40 and all that you would though?).
Personally prefer 360 controllers too, though ps3 is getting a new one. But you can remove the battery pack for the 360 one so when it stops recharging you can get a new one, can't do that with ps3 one. Also the 360 ones power themselfs down.
Also sounds like nothing but when you switch over to tv then leave on the ps3 tomorrow your wireless controller is dead while the 360 one would just switch off when not being used. Which means you need to plug in the ps3 one alot more.
You can put unix on the ps3 which is ok... but can't use flash (not created for PPC chips). So no youtube and the like. And why bother when everyone has PCs? (I did ..but it's kinda pointless)
