Those are great ways of keeping kids off the streets with racing and Im all for it....
meh...kind of. A good number of people use it to organize street races after the event. The kids do talk a lot of shit about the event because they feel it's a "honeypot." In truth, the cops are usually just serving as security guards making sure everything is orderly. No one (racers or spectators) are asked to pop their hoods or get their ridiculously lowered cars measured by measuring tape. Doesn't stop dipshits from racing in the parking lot (and creating a scene when the cops turn on the lights, lol).
But I think the organization is on it's way out. They were originally sponsored by the city after there was a huge influx of street racing fatalities. But the city pulled out a while ago and they've been surviving on ticket sales (which have now been increased for "survival")

There are somethings you cant control...street racing has been around since our dads were teens. I just think having a place to do it is better...I dont get setting up a race at a race track to race later. Just race there.

Re: My last few weeks at the drag races
Never got into drag races, but I can appreciate the effort they throw into the cars.

Cool stuff man, thank's for sharing.
Probably my favorite:
Also this one, since I had a '73 Mach 1.
I miss it, but it had to go unfortunately. I'll pick up another, I hope.
