I'm not phased and I think a few of these in Manhattan is expected each year. At least they're not shootings.

I mean, I am not naive, I 100% understand that people "expect" shit to go down in Hunts Point clubs or what not, as in comparison to the west side district, but my point is that there is so much media attention. Its like they only care when people get killed in certain areas, or when the guy was a rich rappers best friend.

This thread is the first time I've heard that it was a rapper's friend and I heard about it on Friday before the name was released.

When Steven and I went to Therapy in Providence a month ago they searched us like mad at the door. There were metal detectors and pat downs etc. That's in Frickin' Providence!!! Why the hell don't they put more effort into security at the door in NYC? You're more likely to have trouble at the door if you're on a guestlist than if you're packing an uzi.

Really? REALLY? The same dumbass commentary would be made by "regular folks" if there was a story about you or any of the rest of us getting stabbed/killed while out past midnight at any club in NYC. Funny that you point the finger so quickly...

Yes! Bring back the cavity search of Arc/Roxy days. I miss them terribly...

(also... i was reading the comments below the article....people were essentially unphased by the stabbing because they felt that because he was unemployed that he should have been at home anyways, not spending big dough on Duvet.....). What if fabolous was buying? did he still deserve the stabbing?

whether this is good or not, stories are only newsworthy if there is an audience that wants to listen. People in the entire tri-state care (hence story in the daily news) about what happens in chelsea because we all go there. Most people could give a shit about murder in the Bronx because most people who aren't from there don't go there. So long as the gun shots are flying my way on the 4 train getting to the yankees game, i could actually careless myself. there's already too much to worry about in life without having to consider what's happening in an area of the city where i will almost never visit, and to people who are partly to blame for their own demise. which isn't to say that innocent people are to blame for the crimes committed on them, just that most victims of crimes have a role in what happens to them (e.g., drug dealer getting shot for ripping someone off, gang violence between bloods and crips, etc...)

Its not the securitys fault some one who brought the weapon knew somebody and got them in thats it . I know a bunch of places that if you know some one they get in with out any one searching you . I went to pVd in roseland 2 times and it was 21 and over I went in threw the back door with out nobody checking me I brought in a bottle haha and I was chilling up stairs come on I could of brought a machine gun and started blasting at the crowd its just impossible to control everything people will always find ways to bring shit in if they wanna really use it . I dont think he got caught up in the middle of something , if he would of gotten caught up he would of gotten sliced not stabed in the chest and back so I know it was ment for him .

Sucks for him though , I never wanna get into shit like that , thats just to crazy and scarey

jerz, I do not need you to justify or rationalize why this happens.....I know why it does, I was just stating my opinion.

And I think statements like: "people who are partly to blame for their own demise..." is thinking way too much in black-and-white terms like you always do. You are a fairly intelligent guy, but there is a gray area that you constantly forget to inject into your own statements. Because of that, this makes people (myslef included) take you less seriously.

Really? Yeah really. I hold a job and haven't been in trouble for dealing drugs in the past. Whats so tough to figure out here? Most violence that occurs isn't random. Funny you haven't figured that out.
