IMO microhouse/microtrance(extremely minimal with lot's of IDM style clicks and crunches) is different from neo/revival trance. what a misnomer with people calling microhouse neo-trance.

In electronic music, when we use the prefix "micro", it is usually to refer to the actual lenght of samples used.
For example, in microhouse (which has then pretty much merged with minimal techno), samples of sound are very concise and short, and often used in place of actual instrumentation, to replace, for example, kicks, snares, hats, whatever.
a good example of that would be the Akufen album "My way"

Several recent tracks like Airbase - Rest in Peace, although often having modern "electro" beats, have old-skool sounding synth instruments, ie pre-supersaw. This is what Kyau and Albert(which Wiki calls neo trance) sound like. Melodic neotrance? Neo-melodic trance? Again not to be confused with "microtrance". Another "nu skool (melodic) trance" example is Art of Trance - Persia(2006).
Kai Tracid and Hardfloor's comeback productions = Neo acid trance?(again not microtrance)
Artists like Steve Bug have been producing microhouse/microtrance for several years, so it sure ain't neo.
