Don't blame beatport, blame all these small indie lables for having poor quality control. I know several DJs, and they say it's very time consuming to sample all the new tracks on beatport and find the good stuff. Welcome to the digital age, where it costs virtually nothing to put music on the virtual store shelves.

that's easier said than done. much, much, easier said than done.

I've experimented with esoteric sounds and different scales, crazy automation, maybe add influences from other cultures, but in the end it sounds corny or incoherent.

You have to be truly a genius like aphex twin to be unique.

Also, while electronic music is young in terms of a genre itself, it's not THAT young and has been around for ahwhile now, so every experiment has been done. I don't think there is anything new to explore, or if there is anything new to explore, it won't be much.

Bt is not gay btw, he has a kid w someone.

As for all sheep and no shepphards, so true. Esp coming from Aphex Twin, haha.

I don't know about you. But the fact that i know that Aphex made Windowlicker, makes him with Junkie XL and Quiver one of the best producers skill wise on my list.

Have you ever heard the song?

So his words are quite valid and i agree ot be honnest.

Sounds like the problem isn't lack of shepherds but lack of something else:

To quote a wise ninja: "If you kill all the wolves, you're gonna have a crapload of bunnies..."

I'd rethink some things first though man. You could say that certain cultures never thought their way of life would ever change to something new. its something thats very human...that we're living in the best possible or last possible situation just by naturally eliminating the other (worse) situations through time. its easy to think, 'how could there be anything else?'. but this has been proven wrong for years. boundary changing innovations haven't come easy and they're rarely anticipated and commonplace.

LOL! I could name a few, but in doing that, I would be saying that they release crap. Some labels will take just about anything. Maybe there should be a sticky here with a big list of labels.
