Deadmau5 was THE MAN of the year in the minimal section!!!

Other favorites where Ame-Rej, Francois Dubois-I Try, Ozgur Can-Spara Mig, Antena-Camino Del Sol and you can't forget the massive Julian Jeweil-Air Conditionne!

What the fuck are you talking about? He hasn't ever made anything remotely minimal.

The closest I can think of is "1981" and its still just tech house...

well it's NOT FUCKING MINIMAL so I guess that makes you directly wrong. These genre labels actually have meanings and they're not subjective. Deadmau5 makes boring (i.e. formulaic and unimaginative) prog and occasionally a halfway-decent tech house remix.

People call so much stuff minimal that isn't remotely minimal. Stop. Samim is not minimal. Supermayer is not minimal. Gabriel Ananda is not minimal. Sasha is REALLY not minimal. Just because something isn't as big sounding as another song of the same genre does not make it minimal.

Samim produces techno- tech house and occasional minimal when he teams up with Michal Ho.

Supermayer is on this thread cuz they produce techno too. Gabriel Ananda also procudes techno and the occasional minimal. You can't say that the artist you said are not whatever genre you said. They are just producers/dj's which make whatever genre they decide to. (Like Holden for ex. He just produces whatever the hell he wants to. He started making trance[horizons], then got into techno[a break through the coulds], then to some crazy experimental shit[the idiots are wining lp])

The music is labeled, not the artist.

I know your point though... its just that people who incorrectly label music wrong dont listen to "minimal" enough to know. They're probably ASOT listeners... you can't get all pissed off at that shit... give 'em a break.

you don't have the slightest idea what minimal is do you? because none of the above is even remotely close to minimal.

again, not even close, just because "you consider it" minimal trance doesn't make it so. plus deadmau5 is boring, i can barely even tell his tracks apart they all sound like the same thing.

....and progressiveMOJO is right.

yeah most likely ppl who listen to ASOT probably think anything that doesn't sound like progressive house or trance is minimal

expand your horizons yo!

Whoa I never ment to offend anyone in this thread! I was mistaken and I assumed that these tracks where labeled as minimal because like people pointed out everyone normally calls this stuff minimal. I stand corrected!
