The older Batmans, although being dark, had this 'comical' feel to it. Not a bad thing, but Chris Nolan totally erases that feel and replaces it with 'totally insane and fucked up' which is why I think Heath will be a much more maniacal villain, and will end up being the better joker.

Yes ,when it comes to the Joker.
How was that irrelevant?
Because acting is subjective. Each actor brings something different to a role. And in this case, it's even more irrelevant because Heath is playing a different Joker than Nicholson played, hence my mentioning The Killing Joke.

I love Heath, actually, and batman

I'm still anxious to see it.

That's right. The Joker that comic book fans know from The Killing Joke.

I've heard the same thing actually. Michael Caine couldn't finish his lines in one scene because Heath creeped him out

True Batman fans know that comparing Jack's Joker to Heath's Joker is like comparing apples to oranges.

Here's why I have a lot of respect for Chris Nolan, the director of both Begins and now the Dark Knight.
----------------------------------------------
IGN: So it's expected that the third film will focus more on Two-Face. Will it be a solo story for him or will there be another, secondary villain included in it?
Nolan: I wouldn't want to give away too much about this film, but the thing I will say, and I said it a lot about Batman Begins and it was genuinely the truth, is I don't think in terms of sequels. I think in terms of making this film the best film it can be and the most complete film it can be.
----------------------------------------------
Most of Hollywood is concerned about how a storyline can be chopped up into pieces and multiple movies can be made, ultimately leading to a higher box-office gross for each (meaning more money for the studio...aka Kill Bill 1 and 2, Matrix 2 and 3, Pirates 2 and 3, etc)
But Chris here wants to make each Batman movie have its own story and its own coolness. This guys owns. Ill be seeing this no doubt.
