Phoenix - Rise up has to be one of the greatest opening tracks in history.

I honestly know jack shit about this genre (I'm assuming it's considered house), but this mix is great, thanks for sharing.

Just an update on the tracklist:

Sasha plays two mixes of Dreamtime back to back: the Quivver Dub followed by the Quivver Mix, to create a longer version of the track in the mix. One of my favourite tricks from Sasha. You can hear the transition between them when the music flanges slightly midway through: that's two identical signals being almost microscopically out of time with each other.

Additionally, the Fade track is Seperation.

Sasha did the exact same thing with "BT - Loving you more", playing two mixes back to back during that time. I think one was a dub or something, i don't know the exact mixes. The guy was a genius.

Yeah. He'd play the Garden of Ima Dub and then the Primordial Sound Mix, immortalised on his Voyage of Ima mix on the album. For me, that's the definitive version of Loving You More.

And, of course, he opened the Renaissance Mix Collection with three mixes of the mighty Song of Life by Leftfield. It was one of his best tricks back in those days- it almost always sounded fantastic. My favourite example is on his 21/5/95 Essential Mix, where he played two mixes of One Earth Beat by Dum Dum. I still can't spot the transition in that, and I own one of the mixes he used. Immense.

You mean... the guy still is a genius. He still does that now. In the Bonnaroo set from last year. He plays the Holden Bell Dub of Barcelona into the original and still does this often with other tracks in his mixes. At first you think it's one very long track, but then someone picks it out the transition later.

He was doing this on vinyl in 1995. 13 years ago. That's why he was a genius. I can care less what he does now on Ableton, especially how boring and uninspired his sets have become.
