Can you let me know how the pics come out after your mom uses it.. I am thinking of buying one as well, I bought a 3 mp for 200 bucks last year and now, way better ones retail for the same price...

I have a gig card and a 500 mb card, that should hold me over.

so is it worth the extra $100 to get one with IS? i haven't used a camera with IS before so i don't know what difference it makes... but i'm looking to upgrade my old bulky A-series Canon with one of their newer/smaller models.

right now i'm leaning towards the SD1000 (primarily because of the size + price), but i'm also looking at the SD800 and SD850.

Chelsea and I just picked up the SD1000 I believe a few months back and love it. The pictures seem to turn out really good and you cant beat the size. I love being able to just put in my pocket.
