Sadly, it doesn't always work that way in India, where even if you're 100% right, and they're 101% wrong, you can't expect them to comply.

Meh, I don't think there is anywhere that you couldn't fight that. Their job is to provide you with a confirmed booking to get you to where you need to be. That's why you paid them a lot of moula. Instead... you got fucked. You should be reimbursed for your costs, and the "booking fee" they charged you.
