No. Patients are matched to organs based on a number of factors including blood and tissue typing, medical urgency, time on the waiting list etc..

And personally, other than some religious reason, I don't know why more people don't register themselves as organ donors. If I'm dead, what use are my organs/tissues to me if they can help someone else?

I almost needed a transplant myself when I was a kid. I think it should be standard that all people are donors, and that you have to register if you don't want to be - otherwise a lot of people that don't have any objection to being a donor and are too lazy to figure out how to register won't.

I don't think anyone would want my organs.
Lungs: crap
Liver... lol!
Kidneys: mostly working, for now
Uterus: filing for divorce
Heart: don't have one
Knees: busted
Brain: broken
Eyes: mutant
Ears: only half deaf

In short (very short) I'm fairly much an example of how not to live, it would be like giving someone drowning a boot on top of their head.

what about your skin, they use that too for grafts to burns patients and tendons for injury repairs? not to mention bone and bone marrow for people with things like leukemia.

though LOL at your last comment!
