Awesome pics guys! Looks like you guys had an amazing time. I miss Amsterdam soooo much......can't wait to go back. I will never forget the look on red eyes face when he came to meet us at our hotel in Amsterdam and me and my friend were jumping up and down on the beds with a huge bag of pills in our hands like little kids at a candy store lol......they were like $3 a piece or something crazy like that hahaha. Yeah good times for sure!

Nah we stayed outside of Amserdam, near Rai Station, which is the last station of the 4 tram.

...well lets just SAY that as SHORT as our 4-5 day trip was, it was made even ***SHORTER** when MY Saturday was cut severely short via visiting the Bluebird Coffee Shop. I sat down and unconsciously ate an entire piece of rich chocolate spacecake without realizing what i had done. Around 3pm we ate our lunch at Rembrandtplein, and then figured we would tram it back to our hotel. well it decided right then and there to blow up...and a 20 minute, extremely crowded tram ride became like 4-5 HOURS at least in my head and i was fighting to stay aware of my surroundings while not being able to feel my feet or anything else for that matter, felt like i was wrapped inside a huuuge puffy comforter...while falling in and out of lengthy 'DayDreams' occurring just from simple thoughts... so intense i could have sworn they were happening at THAT very moment...

*giggle*

while im not sure i would ever want to experience something to that extent AGAIN...well at least i have a story to tell and a memory of a lifetime...

what makes it even ironic is that we had met up my old h.s. friend and her hubby the night before (who live right by the University of Amsterdam) and they had already entertained us with a story about how she had eaten half a piece of cake while amongst friends and got messed up. lol how quickly we forget. heh.

of course Also loved the various Grab and Go convenience stores where you could grab drinks/sandwiches, those sandwiches were surprisingly well-made with GOOD bread, stocked up with fillings, and very satisfying. good for ppl on a budget cuz damns those EUROS sure did add up!! lol

lol I did the same shit too....but I kept eating them because they took forever to kick in so I was like ok I need more I need more hahaha......needless to say I was off my tits for a good 10 hours....totally crazy experience. Here is a picture of my eating space cakes @ the Grasshopper Cafe.

btw nice choice of camera....the 40D. Did you rent it for the trip or actually buy it? I'm prob getting it after the holidays....can't wait!

i actually broke down and bought the 40D a week before the trip -- i actually had the 30D for a month prior after deciding to sell both my Rebel and my SONY p&s back in August (the latter I had been keeping because i loved being able to take random pics at parties but once i stopped clubbing, it didnt seem important to have it as much anymore). Besides, Drew has his 870IS now so he can be the one to do it

i did love the 30D but i definitely see the potential in having the 40D to learn on. I absolutely love the grip on the camera im surprisingly steadier with it. besides, for such a momentous trip (our first trip abroad), i knew i would regret NOT bringing along the perfect camera for it.

hmm r u sure you wouldn't consider getting the 5D? thats what i would consider if i had your level of exp/talent/potential, and prices are going down. At least WAIT till after January 24 (PMA 2008) Canon is supposed to come out with new dSLRs and successors to the xti and/or 5D are widely speculated.

Oh yeah.....believe it or not I've had my eyes on the 5D for some time now and with prices going down I am licking my chops. The thing is if I bought the 5D I would almost never bring it out to shoot clubs with it.....not even worth taking the chance of messing it up with these asshole spilling drinks left and right. My plan is to get the 5D and the 40D and use the 40D as my "clubbin camera"
