well, it may be warmer than where you are now - but don't expect a heat wave or anything. i'd still bring long sleeves.

last time i was there, i stayed at the Tuscany Suite and Casino . they were having some crazy ass winter sale of room rates for $69 a night. and it was around the same time frame as you're going.

they had a huge out door hot tub that was awesome. especially when it was 40F outside too, haha.

but definitely take the time to walk up and down the strip. visit as many casinos as you can....not to gamble, but just to see their architecture, and any other crazy shows/stuff inside. Circus Circus has crazy circus acts going on in their lobby/casino area...MGM has the lions (i think it's MGM, maybe somewhere else)...and Saraha and New York have the roller coasters too. Go to the Stratosphere on the northern edge and go to their observatory at the top (or do more amusement park style rides)...it's an awesome view.

Clubs should be fun , as well. Just make sure it's a nightclub, and not a gentlemen's club! haha

spearmint rhino. j/k

if you want to check out performances, i think cirque du soleil shows are fun, especially O at the bellagio. monorail is a lot of money to ride on. lots of restaurants inside the forum shops of caesar's. just have fun doing whatever. you'll quickly notice that a clock or watch is worthless in vegas.

yeah, freemont street looks pretty cool. anytime i see something about vegas on tv, a lot of the time they will show freemont street (thank you, moral hazard for telling me the actual name). i always called it "the hallway-place where there's a light display on the ceiling", haha.

jonsun, i sure as hell will make sure i avoid that! i don't want any problems there.

tubularbills, we're staying at the imperial palace. it was either that or the mgm grand, but i guess the imperial palace had a better deal at the time.

and trunks, i heard the curque du soleil was inccredible. i should check to see if that is still going on (when i'd be there). and i thought the monorail was supposed to be free actually? i could have sworn i saw a tv show talking about it and saying it was free... or at least a low rate. good to know anyhow!

O, ka and mysterio are the shows that i know of in vegas. all i believe are permanent installations in their respective hotels.

O is the only water based cirque show. did not get a chance to catch the others

I've never stayed at the IP so I can't comment on the rooms there but the location is great. I've stayed at Ballys, Paris and Bellagio, all fairly close to the IP kinda center strip. That location is an easy walk or cab ride to pretty much anywhere you want to go. I liked that better than when I was way down at Luxor or Mandalay Bay. MGM Grand is a nice hotel but I've heard some bad things about it because it is so damn huge. Like it is a 5 minute walk from the elevator to your room and shit like that.

I highly recommend you do whatever you can to get some LSD for this trip, you won't reget it

You forgot the Beatles one ("Love"?).

Andrea, I highly recommend you use the Duece (double decker bus) as ground transport up and down the strip.... especially from the Strip to Freemont St. It's cheap and other then Saturday night between 7 and 10 it's pretty fast. There's a booth just outside of MGM Grand where you can buy day passes or you can pay on the bus.
