What's so wrong about having an artistic aim when putting together an EP? Although most singles are designed for DJ usage it couldn't hurt to fine-tune the balance between the various songs being offered. I really respect a release like Endora's Joy EP that manages to maintain a certain cohesiveness while providing three different songs for different contexts.
