Personnaly I reckon that any bootleg of any track is fucking shocking.

Imagine you made yur own track and all is going fine its getting played out and youve sold a good lot of copies.

Then some ****** comes along and bootlegs it, then the general interest turns to the bootleg! No more interest in your version.

Think how you would feel then

I Dont know Exactly But I think that SFC's have something to do with mp3 CRC's (in human language: For Each mp3 there is a certain CRC value.. and U can check if the CRC written in SFV and the CRC of the mp3 are the same. If they are then U got the exact same mp3 that was ripped.. If CRC-s mismatch then there went smthn wrong with the download....) <-- Its purely hypothetical though, since I just made it up thinking logically

as for NFO's.. they are needed for Releasegroup logos, release notes, greetings, conctact infos etc...
I always read them.. Someof them contain really massive ascii art... (TIP: watch NFO with TERMINAL font )

Looking at my hard drive right now, I have a copy of:
Paul van Dyk vs Coco - Another Miracle (Gary Hancock Bootleg).mp3 .. last modified on 6th August 2000.
So I guess it ain't a new track. Can't tell you if it's any good or not cos I haven't listened to it for a looong time

But I don't think all bootlegs suck .. if any of you haven't heard Eminem vs Britney Spears - The Real Slim Shady Did It Again .. go and download it! For some strange reason it actually works lol
Makes two crappy songs into something almost worth listening too (probably by removing Britney's voice )

but yea, i got that bootleg a long ass time ago from www.homeofmusic.com if anyone remembers taht site

also, the sfv file is to make sure the release is official, and complete i think, i cant remember exactly,b ut it also checks the mp3s to make sure they are the right size when they are uploaded to the sites, cant remember again
