for the bass leeches: solid bass

http://stuwww.kub.nl/~s216887/samples/SolidBass/

it's one sound sampled at three different octaves for max quality. 3 low ones, cuz who's gonna use a bass sound to play a melody? (well lots of people but they'll have to do with these samples). 44 khz 16 bit mono wav files.

that's inherent to the patch. When I recorded it I checked that "silence" in the wav file was actually silence and not humming or beeping or noise, it was silent. And it should be, it's straight out of MC-307 into pc with everything muted except line in.

Here's a couple of hints regarding that bass sound. I usually use my old analog monster to dial it up.

Look up what Pulse Width means in any electroacoustic book. It has the effect of changing the timbre of a square wave. Important for basses in general, and for this sound.

It's also in usually in 2 octaves, although it might not be in this case. Each one would have a different PW setting.
Finally, you have to have the right filter. Unfotunately, the 3xosc doesn't really let you adjust the pulse width (unless you load an appropriate sample for the question mark), and the stock Fruityloops filters take quite some post-EQing to get this sound.

For 3xosc try a rounded saw for the top octave and a square for the bottom octave. Select INV for the square. Also enable the the log decay light in the CUT section.
