first tune sounded pretty good. the second one was way too psy for me though. and i think i would have liked the first one better if it had been a little less psyish.

dunno really. i haven't paid attention to either j00f or db in a while and i was kinda hoping that they'd gone off the psy a little maybe. as i really loved the stuff both of them released before they went all psy.
and no one (that i know of) makes music like that anymore, which makes me sad.

apparently j00f also knows how to do the infamous jesus pose
he's one of the worst culprits for it

if one doesn't really care for psy trance then it kinda could be seen as negative i think.
i too don't care much for most psytrance but i've always been able to appreciate john's take on it.. plenty of psy elements but with an overall trancier feel to it than most 'pure' israeli psy.. especially the new 0.0db stuff from what i've heard of it
i do wish more producers would attempt to blur the lines between psy/goa & regular trance.. there's loads of musical ground to be covered there

Honestly, I wouldn't say this is that psy. Sure, there are psy elements in 00.db but really, it's a nice blend of harder, darker banging trance. It's typical J00F.... too psy for the mainstream, not psy enough for the psy crowd. I understand where you're coming from though, it isn't for everyone and alot of people get turned off by the tempo.

heh, my emphasis was on 'more'; he's one half of the act in question anyway
and prog psy isn't what i meant.. i meant fast-paced, epic trance. some examples..
darren tate - fall from grace/prayer for a god [fused uplifting trance with goa influences]
simon patterson - f16 [fused uplifting trance with astrix-esque psy]
miika kuisma - twisted/pandemia [atmospheric trance with a psy edge]
anton chernikov & crystal verge - evil spice [effectively slowed down goa with a thuddier kick & trancey synths]
three drives - greece 2000 (mwnn remix) [classic, had to mention it]
astral projection - anything is possible [as above..]
