i've heard him on 4 occasions...he blew each time...no flow to his sets and shitty programming...you just have shitty taste in music.

i've seen too many djs to appreciate mediocre programming and bad mixing...i guess im spoiled living in nyc...

holden's pixel set is pretty mindblowing. i guess it's all a matter of opinion.

I gotta say one thing...going into WMC '06 I was more excited to see James Holden then Sven Vath...His Balance 005 CD will go down as one of my favorites ever (outhouse & eaving you behind OMGGGGGGGG)...I got the chance to meet him and he was one of the most humble people/professionals I had ever met...very laid back and gracious for my feedback to his set...That blew my mind...

Regardless of liking him...hes a nice guy and he has a niche of fans which is super cool in my book....He really impressed me live...he plays stuff that is different from other DJs which I like -- shame he isn't coming...I understand why people may not like him but for those who get him...hes fucking incredible

The first thing people try and do and compare holden to people like tenaglia and francois k. Thats the first sign that the person who is making the comparison really has nothing good to say. Comparing those types of dj's is like comparing apples and .... magnets.

The other person said it best, holden has a good niche of ppl who enjoy his sets. His sets aren't for everyone, but for those who "get it", they are always in for an amazing treat when he's in town.
