I dont think anyone was knocking sander. I wasnt. I liked him at Twilo and the Space terrace.
I was just saying I dont get the whole DJ/VJ combo. Two very different art forms to bring together.
Sander isnt bringing anything new. Pioneer developed and built the mixer, Sander is just the spokes man.
Hey, its another marketing ploy so if people get something out of this thing more power to them.

I was referring to the VDJ's. To my knowledge he is the only real DJ that uses them.

The visuals are cool, but I think it takes away from the dj. I know when I seen some shows that used dvj or what ever else I was more focused on the screen, and not dancing or really paying attention to the music. I know we all go out for the music, but with this it became background music to a visual show. I am for projected visuals, but not the dj trying to make a show, with videos and the music. Let the visual specialist handle that, and the dj take care of the crowd with their music.
The other thing with this... So lets say buy this. You use it at home and now you need to buy a projection screen or hook up to your tv. ok, not a big deal.
What if you go to dj outside of your room? I dont know any clubs with this mixer so now you have to bring the thing with you. Then, who is to say that the club even has a video system to hook this into? Now you have to un and re hook and all the audio cables into this thing and then hook up all the video feeds, set up a projector a screen... ugh the thought of it makes me exhausted.
There is nothing worse than having a dj before or after you have to hook up his laptop and disconnect everything when you are trying to play. And whats even worse is having to stick around when you are done if someone is after you because they have to use your mixer.
All my FX boxes are all EXTERNAL. I can hook them up with minor efforts and take them when I leave. If vdjing if your thing and you plan of leaving your bedroom just get an external unit. More than likely it will be better and have more features that this does to being with.

excuse me for not being very technically educated with video equipment but do you actually need a projector along with a lcd screen to use this? in the video it looked like they were using HD screens. with a projector you can pretty much project the image on anything like a wall or something......

I wasnt talking specifically to you. I was just giving my thoughts on the mixer.
My guess is the unit has a video out or two and it needs to be projected on somthing. Some clubs have tvs, some places people bring in their own equpt like projectors and set up a rig. Walls work good too.

I think it's fucking hot. DJ's don't do shit nowadays but mix intros and outros, it gives one something to do between mixes cuz they sure as hell arent doing tricks
