Bong wants to go, but thinks 1000 max at Center Stage might seem empty, therefore no energy. I'm not familiar with them and just refuse to pay more for a DJ than I did the last time I saw U2 So I guess we'll see y'all next time 'round |
I'm sorry but this post has so many poor assumptions I had to respond.
Assumption: 1000 in Center Stage is empty
It depends on how the venue is cornered off. Not sure the reason why the party is limited to 1000 people but I'm sure if Liquified could do more than that number, they would.
Assumption: No energy from 1000 people
We've been in clubs with less than a 100 and the energy have been immense. Trust me on this one, without exaggeration, Underworld will bring the energy.
Assumption: Not familiar with Underworld
Unless you live under a rock or a complete newb, tracks like Born Slippy, Cowgirl, Two Months Off, and Dark Train have been remixed to death, whored by DJs, and featured in popular movies and television. Check out the Liquified's Underworld thread for YouTube links to their famous tracks.
Assumption: Underworld is a DJ.
They have a true live performance complete with a singer and two guys working the machines.

Retort 1: Bongo doesn't like being anywhere that's not insanely packed. Energy or not. Buuut, you can take that up with him if you like, it makes no difference to me.
Retort 2: I likely have been living under a rock since I've only been going out the last few years. I'm still under 25.
Retort 3: I guess accidentally calling this "band" a "DJ" further proves my statement that I'm actually not familiar with them.
Fact still in place 1: I didn't pay that much for U2, so I don't pay that much for anyone, unless it happens to include an open bar of goose.
Fact still in place 2: When it all boils down, I still just don't want to go.
I guess the mentality I was trying to present (initially without making a big deal about it), was that OH MY GOD, THIS NEWB FREAK OF AN ELECTRONIC MUSIC FAN ISN'T FAMILIAR WITH UNDERWORLD, sooo since the word "Underworld" doesn't stir any excitement in me... I'm saving my money.
I will apologize, I initially responded to this thinking it was the ORIGINAL post for this event. Didn't mean to cause an uproar on your countdown. Y'all have fun
