Yeah I remember that interview too. And I also remember reading that Oakey said he'd only ever spin vinyl... Look where that went.
I can hope, right? I just won't hold my breath.
Well the difference being that it takes less effort to play CDs, but it takes more effort to set up a digital back catolouge.

I'd be more interested in seeing old BT/Quivver/Mozaic et al stuff re-released than the Fluoro stuff.
You'd think it'd be a profitable move for them to put their back catalogue online, given that Perfecto has been a consistently popular label since its inception.

They probably lost a lot of those old masters;just like bonzai. That's the only reason they're not going to put their backcatalogue online. That artist permission excuse is bs.
If their backcatalogue isn't showing up then there's no fuss needed about this label going digital. As of now, it's a huge pile of shit.
which of bonzai's old masters are lost? I know they have put up some stuff from 95 and 96 up for download. is it the stuff before those years?

True, but they cost a fortune due to rarity and in the modern age, a download should be available for those who dont really want to pay top dollar for a dusty, scratched vinyl from an old box in a smokers garage
Perfecto are a lazy bunch of fools for refusing to do this.
"..Paul Oakenfold has announced that his label Perfecto will begin releasing tunes via digital download in 2008, 'We've had so much great music locked away for a while and now we have the chance to unleash it,' Oakie told us."
Either he's indicating that Perfecto have a lot of new releases that have piled up, or he's referring to their back catalogue. A reason to be optimistic, at least.
So far it's been the 1st, not the 2nd. Sledgehammer, On All My Sundays and Break And Fall have been released on Beatport.

Dont think so I've never done it but I'd imagine it'd be easy enough.
Wouldnt take one person more than a few weeks to do.
Any CD stuff -> Rip to .wav, send .wav to Beatport.
Set up a batch operation in Goldwave to convert .wav to 320 and 192 mp3s.
Let the computer crunch all this.
Masters need to be copied to the computer, not sure how thats done with older stuff.
In any case, I cant see it being a massive, insurmountable amount of work. Hell I'm sure any big music fan would do it for FREE if they were allowed a copy of each track.
