Impressive... most of the girls I know fall into one of three categories: only liking cheesy pop, emo indie stuff or hardcore (the latter tending to be the result of one of the cheesy pop people discovering various substances).

girls generally have awful taste.

i asked a really hot girl what kind of music she like, and she said "i like dance music", so i ventured further, "what kind of dance music do you like?" , "emmmmm, you know that song the anthem?". life isn't fair.

Haha at least it's a start.

We had Dave Pearce playing at our uni a couple of years ago and afterwards loads of girls were on the union messageboard saying "I like dance music, but the music he was playing was awful with no melody and you couldn't dance to it, I didn't know any of the songs".

He just played his usual load of seriously cheesy chart trance, old skool and all the bog standard classics like Insomnia etc - my Mum would probably have known just about everything he played and she hates dance music.

It sounds like they're better than you give them credit for...that's probably what I would have said too about the music that you're describing, minus the "I didn't know any of the songs"

My theory about this: girls like music with words, guys are more into rhythm. (It's not a rule, of course, it's just what I've noticed.) Anyone with me?

I'd say in general chicks are more balanced in their lives. IE they don't delve very far into the abstract or unpopular music.

Another thing is that, usually when chicks go to a dance club their main focus is on dancing and feeling good about themselves. The darker more brooding music seems to turn off chicks, but gets guys into it from my experience, who generally respond to the quality of the music as opposed to how easy it is to dance to and how good it makes them feel about themselves.

A chick on the dance floor can be thinking of WAY more things than a guy can usually. a chick may be thinking about who all is around them, scanning everyone to determine who has social value, making sure she looks good/sexy while she dances, and trying to get over negative emotions in her life by experiencing happy popular songs while dancing with friends.

All my opinions, feel free to tell me I'm 100% wrong.

You act like that is a common thing.

Yep, we like indulging in our moodiness and getting a little bit emo about it.

God is a woman and she dances on house music!

I don't think I've seen a girl in over 2 or 3 years who wasn't into house music.

I love going with my girl to house music parties... We went to Nic Fanciulli on Valentines!
