It's not true. Sasha & Digweed played Coachella shortly after their first Delta Heavy tour with stops in LA, SF, and San Diego. The year that Sander K played before Laurent Garnier at Coachella, Sander had to jump on a helicopter after his gig to make it to Avalon on the same night.

You have lost all credibility in my eyes.

Look at what you wrote: one month before and three after. One month after March 8th is April 8th. Coachella is the last weekend of April. Basic cognitive function

The other thing was you claiming that Markus told you he was playing. Well guess what, he's not on the line-up

" Both Sasha and myself have been talking for ages about touring the states together again, but really wanted to go back to our underground roots as recently the only shows we have done together have been massive festival events. So this time around we are playing a great selection of clubs with great sound systems rather than big arena shows, which will give our fans a chance to see us in a more intimate environment. " - John Digweed

i wasn't really thinking an arena alternative, but i see what you're saying. I'm just thinking that Warfield = concert and I'd hate to see this show become a concert with the whole crowd facing forward, simply bobbing up and down. Granted, this has been a problem for years now with dj superstardom, I dunno. As a disclaimer, I've never been to the Warfield. Is it 18+? If so, that may explain some of it. Otherwise, I'd expect Ruby Skye or a similar venue that regularly has edm.

Maybe I'm underestimating the crowd as well, but last time I saw them together was at Crobar in NYC and it seemed a sufficient size for the crowd.

“ While Delta Heavy was billed as an arena tour it was the theatres and clubs where John and I had the most fun and where we felt our sound worked best. So this time around we decided to focus on those venues. " - Sasha

The tour will make stops at legendary rock venues such as the Warfield in San Francisco and Webster Hall in NYC. In addition, many of the shows are 18+ and some are even all ages. And because many of these events are taking place in traditional rock venues their shows may start at 9 and end at 2, as opposed to a traditional club night which starts at 2am and ends at 6am. A rare exception indeed for Sasha and John Digweed fans.

...hope that clarifies it.

didn't we have this same discussion another board???

yes there most certainly is a blackout rule. i've seen it given as both 1 months before and 3 months after or 2/2. i encountered it last year when inquiring about booking a DJ that played at Coachella. also SF and and San Diego (and Las Vegas too) are considered far enough away and different markets so they do not fall undernearth the booking restrictions. so that allows for 2 of the S&D dates you gave. the LA date for Delta Heavy was 2/28...2 full months before Coachella. and i'd assume most likely that date was booked well in advance anyway due to it being a national tour...see below for info on that:

yes we have seen a couple of exceptions over the years - it seems as though if you have a national tour planned you may be able to get an exception (see Justice this year). and obviously if you already have a gig planned before being booked for Coachella they won't make you cancel it. I think the Sander gig fell under those rules and possibly the S&D Delta Heavy gig though that was 2 months before anyway so it could have been outside the window. and i'm not sure if in 2002 the booking date restrictions were that long.

There's prob no chance of it happening again, but in 2001 when S&D played in SF (for Spundae), they totally played at the SF Gift Center (which was all ages or 18+ I do believe) and then at Ten15 after that event was over for the purely 21+ crowd... :-p

I can always hope....but I don't expect it to happen again (with an afterparty at Ruby :-p)
