As far as the mixing, i have to say it really depends on the track and the medium im using. For instance on cdj im much more likely to use kills and quick switches (freq wise) since i can easily drop a track in on the first beat without the use of headphones. Vinyl is a little trickier so i do fade and baby the transitions a bit more constantly eq ing, but it really depends on the track and if i want to bring more energy (big change) or keep the pace without doing anything drastic in terms of tempo shift. I just try and do something different everytime or else i get bored and stop trying. Also diff phrasing.
ps im not an alt, im the ghost of xmas past. (listening to your set after the nhl trade deadline is ova) |
word. yeah vinyl has always been trickier for me. but that's what i learned on, i wish i had more time to develop myself on it, but CDJs came out pretty soon afterwards and i just jumped platforms.
