Its not a scam. The prize part is sort of a scam, obviously I'm sure he wont be "lucky" enough to be the winner, but they will give you the two gift cards. In return for the gift cards you will sit though a 3+ hour marathon presentation on the timeshare with the absolute worst high pressure sales tacticts that make the sleaziest used car salesman look like a saint. You will have to say no at least 30 times and listen to your salesman, his manager, the resort sales manager give you increasingly higher pressure sales pitches.

So if they bring in 500 people today and give them each $80 bucks and in the process get just 25 morons to fall for their shit and plunk down $15,000 on a shitty timeshare in some shit town in Texas they are still coming out way ahead.
