In all seriousness, I've found that it's different strokes for different folks. I've seen people who literally smoked themselves retarded. NO clue as to what was going on in real life. I've seen people who become uber paranoid. I've seen people who it didn't really seem to affect much at all, so they never used it much.
Being a Type A by nature, I found it to be very relaxing, personally, when done in the proper setting (privacy of home). It also definitely enhanced EDM and Winamp visuals for me . It usually made me introspective and very detail-oriented, too. I loved to get baked and mow the yard in the summer, for example. I'd manicure that shit. But, that was my early 20s, and I was single and had both the income and the lack of responsibilities necessary to support such a habit.
Now that I'm married, in my early 30s, and raising two stepdaughters, there's simply no time/money/excuse for it. No matter how silly the laws may be, it's illegal, bottom line. And no matter how relaxing the stuff may be for someone so high strung by his very nature, it's not worth that if it means losing the kids. If the laws were changed, I'd perhaps reconsider. But I don't see that coming in my lifetime.

Good post. Keep your priorities straight, and when responsibility is at stake, getting high is the last thing you should be doing. Everyone always says that getting high is a high school/college thing and that most people eventually "grow out of it." I have a tendency to believe that.

Hmm... I feel kind of dirty now. Started in high school (14 years ago), continued through college, and still smoke to this day.
I have a steady 9-5 job in the tech industry, no kids, no dependants, and no unmanageable debt. I work out 1.5 hours daily, and am generally in good health. I also dont smoke cigarettes or drink alcohol.
Smoking ganj is still a daily ritual for me. Anywhere from 1 - 4 bowls after all my sh*t has been done for the day. After many years, I still enjoy that moment of the day when I can sit down, play some music, smoke a bowl and relax until it's time for bed. Maybe I'll grow out of it one day, but for now I view it as my glass of wine in the evening.
