I know theres a big debate about it that'll never be solved, but what is removed is additional harmonics that may subtley change the lower harmonic perception that you can hear. I think .wav files do sound a little fuller than mp3s. I could be wrong though.
In any case, I dont like paying for something that effectively isnt a full product, which is what .wav is. I'm happy with livesets in mp3, but music I buy now has to be .wav. |
If you have accurate equipment then you will be able to notice the change. For example, I notice significant changes when I am using my Ultrasone Proline 750 headphones and I switch between a 320 mp3 and a wav.
If you download .wav's to play live, no one will EVER notice a difference.
