Ok, I'm slightly wrong here, and I'm not sure if this is worth the bump but anyway, better then making my own thread.
For those interested in making a full on psy bassline it consists of:
50% 100% 75%
k b o b
k=kick
b=bassline on root note (of the appropriate octave)
o=A note
With the psy feel created by having a shortish attack and smallish release as well. It's generally with a saw waveform too, but I'm sure you could do something interesting with an fm'd square and such too.
with the percentages being velocities (volume).
Most interestingly, I was listening to distance to goa 5 the other day, and it appears that one of the songs actually contains that pattern but with hi hats instead of the bass (well actually not instead of, at some parts at the same time as, which sounds quite good/interesting). I think thats an idea I might yoink.
