I have to disagree with you on the DJ's, who doesn't want to see DJ's like Markus, Sander K, Blank and Jones, Digweed, Infected Mushroom etc. on a weekly basis. Giant books real talent on a weekly basis and they should be given props for that. I personally have never had any problems with BELO, its not my fav. club in San Diego, but I think that no matter the club your gonna get a "typical" SD crowd with plenty of hot chicks and douchebags.

I have found that both San Diego and Los Angeles crowds consist of hot chicks with douche bags, the difference being the significantly higher level of pretention in LA. San Francisco has the more fun peeps.

true, but SD is full of scensters, they have no clue about the DJ or music he is spinning and don't wanna know, they just wanna be "seen" at O.B. or Belo

I was just wondering, PVD would have been perfect for 4th and B, Belo was too crowded, was it not available?

One place that is scensterless is club deep sunday nights at Vangaurd.

4th and B needs an overhaul.

LOVE Firdays owned.. but a mixup of venues in SD is necessary.. LOVE burnt itself out with too much goodness for the city to support.. unfortunate, but it sounds like a better plan may be in place now.. Im totally down!

Not all mainstream DJs are bad. I love Digweed and Sander K. Personally we have different music taste. My opinion is that most trance out there is badly produced. I think after clubbing at Fabric in London and Watergate in Berlin I have very high expectations. Now Avalon brings a lot of good talent.

I see your point, SD is not the most EDM friendly city, we cant compare to L.A. S.F. London etc. with that said Giant is the best promoter we have.

San Diego isn't the most clued in city when it comes to the music but seems like if there was a monthly at 4th and B there would be enough interest to sustain it. The weekly Love parties had some nights there where I felt bad for the DJ cause the place looked empty.

Think 4th and B is going to be a set week? It would be easier to build a following if people knew the 2nd Friday of the month was time for a "big room" sound. Sharam is a good fit for 4th and B. I just wish Sander K. would play there instead of Belo next month. And for the life of me I can't understand why you would want to put Armin in Belo in May instead of 4th and B. I hope that info is just plain wrong.

I agree with you :] . Promoters should also educate people about EDM and built a culture, especially in SD. Where people don't have an interest or an awareness about the music, they just go to get drunk.
