i grew up on copious amounts of abba, barbara dickson, jive bunny, 50s and 60s and 70s music and bananarama. Not forgetting genesis, the beatles, and kylie & jason. thankfully I made the transition into disco music in the mid-late 80s through my auntie who bought some tapes. from there, rave hit hard and through what was brought for me until i was 9 or so, then as free will grew, i chose to follow the electronic route when everyone was into grunge, rock or something else, it fascinated me more, the prodigy, 808 state, altern8, sl2, cappella etc etc. from there i bridged it with jungle and early breakbeat hardcore which at the time were often played together. piano hardcore, 4beat and euro. natural movement from that was into house/trance and also hardcore itself. gave that up in the late 90s as it became unbearably predictable, carried on with the rest, then evolved from there.

musically training, nothing other than a keyboard, a recorder and a drumkit as a kid.

I started playing the piano at the age of 4, played it for a year and then quit because my teacher was emigrating. Started playing at 9 or 10 again, but quite again when I was 14 probably - didn't like the fact that classical music was all I was playing.

I wish I could say my dad or any other family member was a music fanatic and introduced me to EDM or any other good music for that matter, but it appears that no one in my entire family gives a fuck about it. I guess I can count both of my brother's CD collection with 10 fingers only too.

Yes, sang a song religiously when I was younger called speed bumps. It also had a dance routine. My dad was into stuff like Procul Harum, my mother liked Kate Bush, they both liked Techno.

Lived with my dad in a commune kinda place for a few years where it was all the drug acid and very earthy sounding tunes, but then when we'd go to meets with other communes in fields and the like it would be purely Techno.

My musical love was Self taught... i grew up with Top 40 radio, since it was the only exposure i got, around 13-14 I really got into Hip-Hop, next came break-dancing/booty, Which eventually opened me up to the world of Trance/Techno. Now it's all of EDM.

I have tried to produce but it's so much easier to Appreciate it!

Essentially no music background whatsoever, save for a beginning percussion class I took during my freshman year in high school. This included drums, 'bells,' and auxiliary instruments.

I've got a solid handle on the theory and everything from high school, can't play, can't sing, can't make anything, about my only real talent in relation to music was 12 years of ballet, ballroom, latin, jazz and contemporary dance training... then I wrecked the hell out of one of my knees skiing so I don't do it any more.
Aside from that I've just got a massive amount of music from my travels around the place, pretty much everything from African percussion to Dutch hardcore techno and anything else in between, before/after.

1. Yes, piano and some guitar. Went to pianoschool but quited the day before I was supposed to perform at some place, I dont remember but started with basketball instead. Piano was geeky.

2. Yes, tryed to learn notes but i sucked just like all other things that has to do with reading anything, I just realized right now I might have dysleksi. We also had some listening- and singingtraining, and musichistory at school, I sucked at that too.

3. Yes, Piano, oldschool synthkeyboards, sequencers (recently), and everything that has to do with amps, speakers, cables, acoustics etc. Used to build speakers when I was younger. Also a former DJ. And always been interested in computers and technology realy. Everything self-teached.

4. Parents (especialy father) always supported my music, and they putted me on pianoschool as they thought I would like it, but i was more into crazy synthsounds, beats, bass etc. They always also let me play whatever i found on the radio loud and helped me getting a good stereo early. THAT helped me alot.

5. Early days I was unvolentarely listening to Heavy metal and Rock through the walls of my older brothers room. Stuff like Metalica, Nirvana, Iron Maiden etc etc. Also he playd electric guitar himself. As i started finding my own music at the age of 10 or so it was only dance-music, techno, rave, DnB trance etc, anything loud enough to overgo my brothers violent treble-music.

6. Yes I make techno, trance, progressive, house, psy, breaks today.

I started playing guitar 3 years ago. Always wanted to when I was younger, but never happened. Taken a few classes, but I learnt more on the internet. No training in music theory although we have some classes on it at uni now.

Nope. None of my parents are musical at all. My dad is a big fan of Bruce Springsteen, but that's about it, my mom almost never puts on any music.
The earliest music I can remember liking was some kind of rock music, probably 80s hair-metal. I was like 5. I just called it "noisy music" and jumped around on the couch to it. Later, I was a big fan of Michael Jackson. Then Guns N' Roses (still listen to it alot to this day). Then Nirvana etc.
