Apparently there's an epidemic in Florida with all these 'pet' pythons, boas, anacondas, etc... that people either get rid off by letting go in the wild or have escaped. Thing is, in the Everglades & local swamps, they're not native to the area and as a result of having no natural predators there...they pretty much are terrorizing the local and native species of animals that are there. It had pretty much swallowed the alligator, but since they don't 'kill' the animal before swallowing...the alligator managed to somehow open the mid section of the python but still died of asphyxiation. Desidel can confirm that I have this weird obsession about animal vs animal topic . I believe there was a thread like this already and this was posted in it. |
Being that Pythons, or all constrictors for that matter, fully asphyxiate their prey before even considering to eat them, and further, that they eat their pray head first rendering most claw/limb movement fruitless, this seems unlikely - something else definitely happened
