Ya, ACTUAL recycling, like you described is good.
Throwing stuff in the blue bin is a big waste, apparently they only use a small portion of what they receive at the recycling plant, which isn't a big surprise.
While I do think there is a big problem concerning the environment, I don't think it will be a global solution that everyone adopts that will solve the problem. It will be a series of smaller solutions that WAY more people will use, instead of 1 big giant solution that the sensationalist environmentalists come up with.
All in all though, awareness is good and that's what earth hour is for.
