I GOT THIS MESSAGE..
I just got out of a staff meeting and wanted to let you know that the staff of both the Comfort Zone and the Silver dollar just had a staff meeting tonight to discuss what happened over the last few weeks and what our game plan is for the future.
I wanted to start by thanking all of you for the support you have given all the staff and the club over the last few weeks. If it wasn't for all the support from you and the hard work from staff and management it would have been a lot rougher.
The club will not be closing nor are we going anywhere. That is a fact. The club has been running for 12 years and we have never had any problems like this, nor have we had the problems that other clubs have had such as weapon problems or fights. This incident with the raid was a one time event and won't be happening again. It is not easy to obtain a warrant and after what the police failed to find what they were looking fort at the club it is going to be next to imposable for the police to obtain another warrant in the future.
The main thing discussed in the meeting was security. We are going to be tightening things up. We have reinstated the old search polices at the front door and there will be *NO EXCEPTIONS* for anyone. We will be wand searching (metal detector) *ALL PATRONS* as soon as they enter the door. Cover charge will be collected and wrist band obtained. *ALL PATRONS* will be then hand searched before they are allowed into the venue. There has always been a *ZERO TOLERANCE* policy towards weapons, drugs and alcohol found upon entry and the same will be held true going forward.
Second, security will now be keeping a better watch on the inside of the club. *ZERO TOLERANCE* for any drugs found in the club or alcohol found in unlicensed areas. Also, any visible usage of narcotics (or alcohol while in non licensed areas) will result in your immediate ejection from the club and anyone caught with a quantity of narcotics will be immediately ejected and asked not to come back till next week. We do not condone the use of drugs in the club but what you do outside before you come in into the Comfort Zone is no business of ours.
Everyone should make sure that they have their ID on them from now on because the house policy of no admittance for those under the age of 19 is going to once again be enforced, *NO EXCEPTIONS*.
Once again, no backpacks or bag, with the exception of purses, are going to be allowed in the club. We suggest that you leave them at home or in your cars otherwise you will be asked to check them. We will be telling you to check any large or bulky jackets before you enter the club also. *NO EXCEPTIONS*
A few of you have messaged myself over the last week or two with comments or concerns regarding security and other staff members of the club. I would just like to let you know that the messages you have sent to me are going to be printed off and handed in to our management and the club's consultants and will be addressed swiftly and justly.
Renovations are happening. We are working with the clubs architects to make some changes around the club starting with a new patio. We are going to be cleaning up the area, replacing the fencing, getting a new awning, cleaning up the parking lot so we can have more space and installing a new security door in the fencing so that if someone has to leave through the patio in an emergency they can but you will not be able to enter the venue through the back entrance.
With the hard work of the staff and the support of everyone who comes out to listen to Toronto's best of the best when it comes to house, hang out with friends, meet new ones and dance the day away we are going to keep going strong for at least another 12 years. Once again thanks for all your support through this time and I look forward to seeing you out on the dance floor really soon.
