any foam will work fine for isolating your monitors. the easiest way to tell if it's working well enough is to turn your monitors up and see if you feel any vibrations in the surface they are on. use more/different foam until it goes away.

I'll throw my hat in and rate the ALP5s

I find they have a large flat stereo image - really weird when I heard it first!!! I find them very easy to listen to over long periods too.

As for accuracy these are my first monitors so have nothing to judge by but the detail compared to my last hi-fi Eltax speakers is huge. The bass response is good when you consider the fact most club speakers have the bass tuned for 100hz (as per Darren Tate interview) so 52hz is plenty good.

They used by Airbase so if you rate his stuff / engineering then they should be fine

Love my HS80m's. Very detailed mid. I put the midrange boost on +2db just so that I can hear every last crackle, and so that I compensate the bass level enough. I do wish these went a hair lower, but that's what a sub is for
