this wasnt from the actual website, but a guy who has many industry sources and would be the last one to back up the numbers if they wernt true. the guy has been predicting the end of ultra for years and had to eat his own failed prediction. of course these numbers are preliminary but there is no reason to lie about the numbers, and ultra obvisouly must be turning a profit and ergo why this festival has been going ten years strong. im sure there is some percentage for error, but it cant be a large one. i didnt actually go to the festival, havent been since ultra 6, where more than 50-60k showed up at the smaller bayfront, so i dont think these numbers are that unbelievable.

Which is exactly why they are going to blow #'s out of proportion to find another place to do it. BayFront, the beach again...

I will only believe the numbers I see of how many tickets were actually sold, then take into account of how many walk-ins, then badge holders.

You might be right they had 100,000 people there in the weekend, but it just didn't seem that busy to me.

bayfront has changed policy and will not allow festivals of over 25k to take place on its grounds, thus the move over to bicentennial. and i highly doubt, better yet pray, that a festival of such proportions be held on the beach. that spells disaster for the city, community, and not to mention a nightmare for police.

im not out to burst anyones bubble but as of right now i cant think of a viable option(in or around miami) to hold ultra next year.

and if any of you went to Bang! 2006... the OFFICAL numbers were 30k ppl and you cant logically say that bang and ultra brought in the same amount of ppl. stages would literally CLEAR out at different times cause tiesto or daft punk or duran duran were playing at the time. where as ultra had all stages packed at any given time.

Ok, so there were 100k there for ultra. But how many of those underage kids go other places and are there for the WMC and not just the all ages ultra show? Should you count them?

if u were conting every event........total number of people....not including people that go from party to party...i would think the total number of people attending would be somewhere around 125K

a large number of people only go to Ultra; a large number of people don't go to Ultra and only do parties.

Yes, there were less people overall but I thought it had a great feel around town. Wednesday night I noticed that there was no one in town. The economy is really bad right now and it all adds up. It cost me over $100 in gas to drive down and back from St. Pete.

There are more and more people going down for WMC that do not attend Ultra itself. And it'll keep going up..

There was prolly 100k people in miami that normally would not be there, that were there for WMC. 100k is prolly a very close figure honestly.
