Not always, in engineering passive is standard. You'd never (ever, ever, ever, ever) use "I" in a thesis or report for example.

I always hated it, and if u can get away from it, your lucky. My professors always made us do it every now and then. If you didn't, u lost a letter grade. We always liked it since everyones grades were better!

Uh, we did. We've worked on it for the past 3 weeks.

Turned it in 5 hours ago. I'm expecting a good grade. We did everything that was asked in the syllabus.

I'm a stickler on writing style, so if you're working with me, and you can't write a sentence without having 3 or 4 commas in every PASSIVE sentence with run ons and missing words, you shouldn't be in university.

I find that doing anything 'groupwork'-wise in school, whether it be project, speech, or paper, almost always ends up being a chap in the ass because theres always that one dude or girl who doesnt talk and therefore doesnt wanna do shit and provides absolutely nothing constructive to whatever needs to be done.
