i was so pissed off last winter - i was driving in madd Traffic (Tiesto), and it was raining so I wound up gettin stuck in The Blizzard (Kalopsia). I couldn't wait to get home and take a Silver Bath (Plastic Boy) and meet up with my girlfriend a lil later for some Sushi (Sander van Doorn).

Probably the best tasting sushi I've had around the city, and really fresh. Prices are average to maybe a bit above average for a sushi restaurant, but definitely not Nobu prices. There's one in SoHo and in Park Slope.

Randomly decided to check this place out for lunch a couple weeks ago and loved it.

I have been going to Tomoe for about a decade now. Its one amazing joint in my opinion. It looks like a hall in a wall but if you come in a party of four after 5-6pm, you are waiting at least half hour outside. Its mostly same story if it’s two of you but ITS SO WORTH THE WAIT!!!

I am going to Megu downtown this Friday but even though it’s on a fancy side, its great and I love it especially because of the interior. www.megunyc.com

I tried out www.geisharestaurant.com two weeks ago and loved everything on the menu & on top of that I haven't had such diverse sashimi deluxe served to me in NYC before. Tomoe sashimi deluxe comes close but not by far.

Werd. I've eaten at most of the "high end" sushi places, with the exception of blue ribbon and I think Tomoe's fish is as good, if not better, than any of those other places. If you're just into sushi and sashimi, than Tomoe is definitely the place. But if you like fancy rolls and dishes, then I'd probably skip it.
