i listened to it once, didn't really like it at first listen. starts out mellow (which is tolerable) BUT didn't pick up until track #3 Starecase - Faith (Loafer remix). it just lacks the energy that i expect from Tiesto. the mixing is impeccable though, gotta give him that. i may like it after couple more listens but for now, me no impressed.

if you are looking for energy then you are clearly looking in the wrong tiesto album series. ISOS is a dedicated summer CHILLOUT cd.
thus lacking energy. if i recall from the original ISOS. the inside cover did detail his appreciation for his summer in ibiza. more over the summer nights there, so I wouldnt expect a high-energy CD with the name "in search of sunrise" to me its a more laid back beach chilling CD. my image...sitting on a beach chair under an umbrella drinking my corona.

Its all laid back vocals for the most part. Easy on the ears. Might not be bad for trying to interest someone into trance.. A couple listens to and its dull. Not really something you want to listen to with your friends.. or drive to.. maybe sleep to..

I thought some of the mixing kind of sucked as well.

I´ve listened to it and all I can say is: It lacks the power of ISOS2. That one ruled but the third made even "Mindcircus" less enjoyable with a not so good mixed version.
I love Tiesto, he is the best for me right now, but I spoke the truth.
But, anyway, it is worth listening. I enjoyed, tought not so much as I expected.

this is true...i'll be honest, tiesto broke my trance cherry...
i cried the first time i heard him play in NY...Gatecrasher Party@Limelight - Scott Bond opened for Tiesto. In reality..tiesto does lack the mixing ability...it is true..uncomparable to ferry..i think tiesto just blew up in the states way before corsten. plus tiesto has (as of late) moved to a different trance genre...hopefully the muzak compilations will be better. i still wish the old tiesto style will come back...soft and light..yet fly-able...
trance means "~" to me follow the curves as you fly through space =)

1. Solarstone - Solarcoaster
2. Andain - Summer Calling (Josh Gabriel Mix)
3. Argonaut - Your body is a temple

Most of the time I listen that way to my Isos3, just great songs!

Just be happy that this cd contains a few good old sounding trance songs. It is very rare in this time to find some good trance that isn't cheese. Tiësto done it...

Just a nice cd, second best in my opinion (couz nothing can beat Isos1).

About Tiësto's mixing skills I certainly argree with you guys, a really degradation compared with years ago.

Solar Stone - Solar Coaster, Starecase - Faith (Loafer Mix), and Andain - Summer Calling are the three best tracks on there. I really like isos3, yeah it's mostly a bunch of mellow tracks, but it's still great.
