Is there going to be damage? I'm not so sure.
End of the day this is what a year after FM2 and is shiter. Even the full version I'm not expecting much more aside from more of the same plus tuning.
Notice a lot of the probs I mentioned weren't just about too few tracks/cars. And I HAVE played it. |
Sorry for coming off a little harsh, I understand that after you've played it a few times and are a little disappointed that you spent $39.99 for a game you believe to be inferior to another game you already own (at least I think you own it)
With your issue on the updates...surely this won't last forever. I heard that Sony pumped out two patches right after Prologue launched, and chances are, by coincidence, you just happened to play right around those two times. This issue will wear off if it hasn't done so already.
As for the rumble-free aspect...well, this has been fixed with the release of the Dual Shock 3, but you will have to buy that if you wanna get a little jitter in your controller. Too bad Sony didn't jump on that boat, say, back when the PS3 first launched. They claimed Sixaxis + Dual Shock combined was impossible, that they were 'interfere' with each other...but the Wii had even BETTER motion sensing AND it also had rumble features...and now a sixaxix + dual shock controller has arrived somehow as if an epiphone occurred and the technologies can work harmoniously after all! Hmmm.
I've never played Forza, so I can't agree or disagree on your comparison. All I know is that Gran Turismo has a bigger fanbase, so I would GENERALLY assume (and in JUST this context) that GT would be the better series. From the looks of your playthrough, doesn't look like thats the case however.

Car damage will be implemented in a later update for GT5 prologue rather than just the full package. Private games will also be implemented in a future update as well so that the only dumb drivers I have to deal with are my friends. |
Outstanding stuff. I think I read something akin to what you said on IGN at one point. Good thing we don't have to wait until the full version, whenever that is. (as biznology corrected me on my last post ) (that release of April 2009 was merely a guess since an interview with Polyphony Digital on PS3Fanboy had them saying "the full version still has at least one more year to go"...Prologue launches April 08, one year later is April 09, though obviously they were not being specific.)

They should have called it a demo, and release it for free, because it is waaaay limited. I'm glad a friend bought it so I would save the bucks. Thanks for the extra bit of info though |
Anytime. And I would agree that they really should have just added new features to the already-released Gran Turismo HD on the PSN. Prologue is essentially GT HD, but with a few more tracks, some more cars, and online multiplayer. It was essentially just an expansion pack and definitely not worth $39.99 if you ask me.
