Too many releases, too many labels, too many Dj's thinking they can produce, too many 'upcoming' producers who are hardly upcoming at all using the same presets and the same templates.

There is quality trance out there, no doubt about it, it's just that you have to shovel through a lot of crap to get there, and people either get tired of shovelling or they accept the crap as 'standard' and that's where quality suffers.

A year in the future would be classified as groundbreaking in trance if we found just one new innovative, original artist. If a year brings another Joof, or another Vibrasphere, or another Tiesto minus the crap pre-2003, then there is progress. Barring that, it's just clutter.

its just a case of sifting through the crap... Theres wicked music released this yr, but the style is changing, so you either change with it and adapt to those different styles, or you stay hooked on a particular year in which certain releases caught your ear. I love stuff from the past, but of course theres great stuff out now too, cant stay stuck on old music forever.

I haven't even bothered listening to anything 2008 yet
